The Palms Shopping Village brings new convenience to Riverlea

Riverlea residents can now shop, dine and access a growing range of services closer to home following the opening of Stage 1 of The Palms Shopping Village.

Officially opened on Wednesday, 24 June, the $100 million retail precinct supports more than 120 local retail and service jobs and represents another major milestone for Riverlea and Adelaide’s northern suburbs.

Coles and Liquorland anchor the first stage, alongside Anytime Fitness, Amitra & Co Hair Services, Jennifer Carly Aesthetic Medicine, St Georges Bakehouse and Nou Nails. Priceline Pharmacy has also opened, with Local Crowd Coffee and Kingsmen Hair set to further expand the centre’s retail and dining offer.

Walker Corporation Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer David Gallant described the opening as an important step in supporting Riverlea’s growth, with the new retail village “unlocking everyday convenience for residents” while supporting local jobs and economic growth.

The centre gives residents convenient access to groceries, health services, fitness, food and coffee within Riverlea, leaving more time to spend with family, friends and the local community.

Work is continuing on the next stage of The Palms, which will include an outdoor dining precinct and community plaza. Further additions will include Paisley Park Early Learning Centre, a medical centre with pathology services and more dining options, creating a new place for the community to meet and spend time together.

Riverlea resident Emily Kempster said the centre would provide “more places to meet friends, spend time with family and connect with neighbours.”

Reflecting on the pace of change across the community, Ms Kempster added, “You can feel the momentum across Riverlea.”

Located at the corner of Central Drive and Riverlea Boulevard, The Palms will provide more than 10,000 square metres of retail and commercial space when complete. The centre will feature more than 25 specialty stores, an alfresco dining precinct and parking for more than 530 vehicles.

The Palms Shopping Village forms part of Riverlea’s broader vision, which includes new homes, schools, parks, sporting facilities, retail and local employment opportunities.
