Meet Monica: Riverlea Resident and Owner of Roop Fashion Creators and Boutique

We’re excited to introduce Monica, a passionate entrepreneur and proud member of the Riverlea community. Monica is the owner of Roop Fashion Creators and Boutique, a unique fashion business that celebrates cultural diversity while empowering individuals through style.

Originally from India, Monica moved to Australia in 2015 with her family. With a dream of building a new home and starting a fresh chapter, it wasn’t long before she discovered Riverlea.

“I saw a flyer for Riverlea, and my family and I instantly fell in love. It felt like the perfect place to call home,” Monica shared. “Karen, our wonderful guide, really helped us choose a perfect lot by the park. The greenery and peaceful environment made us feel so positive about the area.”

Monica also has a deep passion for the fashion industry, and starting a boutique has always been her dream. “I’ve always wanted to create a space where people can find clothing that speaks to their culture and their style. A place where they can feel confident and stay in touch with their heritage while embracing modern fashion trends.”

Monica sees fashion as more than just clothing, it’s about building confidence and staying connected to one’s roots, especially for the multicultural community of Riverlea. “Riverlea is a wonderfully diverse place. There’s a real need for clothing that helps people express themselves and feel at home.”

Monica’s journey into the fashion world was sparked by her deep connection to her Indian roots and a desire to create clothing that spoke to the cultural diversity within her community. “Back in India, I was always surrounded by people who made beautiful traditional clothing,” Monica explained. “Through a friend in India, I started learning about the art of design. Now, I create custom, culturally inspired pieces for our community here in Australia.” Whether it’s a special occasion or everyday wear, Monica designs, customises, and sells her creations, delivering them in just 10-15 days.

Outside of her business, Monica is eager to get more involved in the Riverlea community, particularly through local events. “I believe the key to growing any business is building relationships,” she says. “Marketing is a big part of it, but you also need to get to know the people and connect with them. I want to be part of the Riverlea community, share my passion, and contribute to making this place feel like home for everyone.”

Monica’s advice to others looking to start a business? “Get in touch with the community. Riverlea is a place where you can grow and thrive, and there’s so much potential to build something truly special here.”

We’re grateful to have Monica as part of the Riverlea family and look forward to seeing her boutique dreams become a reality. Stay tuned for more exciting updates from Monica and her journey in Riverlea!
